About the Role

Event Staff supports the successful execution of athletic, ceremonial, and special events at the United States Air Force Academy. Staff work both independently and as part of a coordinated team to ensure safe, organized, and positive event experiences for patrons and participants.

This is a part-time position. Hours are scheduled on an as-needed basis depending on event schedules, staffing needs, and contract requirements. Schedules and event assignments are not guaranteed and may vary week to week based on operational needs.

This position supports major events held at Falcon Stadium primarily during the summer through fall seasons. Key events include Graduation (May), PBR (June), concerts (September), and football games (September–November). Staff may also be scheduled to support additional events at Falcon Stadium or other venues as operational needs require.

Assignments may vary depending on operational needs and event size. Positions under this classification may include:

  • Traffic and Parking Personnel
  • Usher Personnel
  • Entry / Screening Personnel
  • VIP Club Personnel
  • Access Control Personnel

What You'll Be Doing

  • Following all event management instructions and established protocols.
  • Providing professional, courteous customer service to patrons.
  • Monitoring entrances, exits, and designated areas for safety and security concerns.
  • Maintaining clear egress routes and awareness of emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Reporting hazards, incidents, injuries, or security concerns to management.
  • Supporting crowd control, load-in/load-out, and operational coordination.
  • Adhering to dress code, radio protocol, and communication standards.
  • Maintaining compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
  • Assisting with cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned areas.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support event operations.

What We're Looking For

  • Applicants must generally be at least 18 years of age.
  • In limited circumstances, individuals aged 16 or 17 may be considered for event staff roles in accordance with applicable labor laws and company policy, and must work alongside an adult chaperone who is also employed on the event staff.
  • Employees under the age of 18 are not permitted to work parking or traffic control assignments.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain professional in high-traffic environments.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with team members.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to a U.S. military installation.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and acceptable driving record if operating a company or government vehicle is required for assigned event duties.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 40-50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, standing, and reaching for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.
US Pay Range
$17.20—$18.48 USD
