Job description

Job Description One Tech Engineering is searching for an Electrical Engineer for a position located in Maple Grove, Minnesota. The Electrical Engineer will lead like-for-like replacements and upgrades of substation equipment, including breakers, switches, transformers, relays, bushings, and surge arresters. The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience. Electrical Engineer Responsibilities: Perform troubleshooting and technical evaluations of substation equipment and systems. Initiate maintenance and upgrade projects and develop project scopes.

Order materials and prepare material requisitions. Develop and adjust designs as needed for brownfield projects (no greenfield design work). Coordinate with construction teams to execute field work safely and efficiently.

Manage project schedules and track progress to completion. Ensure clear communication with all stakeholders, including construction teams and substation maintenance personnel. Deliver scoped work packages, provide field coordination, and support the completion of replacement and maintenance activities.

Requirements of the Electrical Engineer: 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required. Strong knowledge of substation equipment with field troubleshooting experience, or a demonstrated willingness to work in the field.

Familiarity with brownfield substation replacement and maintenance workflows. Experience coordinating with stakeholders and initiating projects, including material ordering. Proficiency in SAP and ProjectWise.

Field experience in substations and basic familiarity with PLC/logic programming is preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
