Aalo Atomics is pioneering a new era in clean energy with factory-fabricated microreactors designed to deliver affordable, scalable, and reliable nuclear power. Our mission is to make nuclear energy globally accessible, starting with the Aalo-1, a 10 MWe reactor leveraging cutting-edge safety, modularity, and efficiency. Based in Austin, TX, we're rapidly growing as we work to deploy the world's first fleet of advanced microreactors. Join us and help revolutionize energy for a sustainable future.

About the role

Are you passionate about storytelling, technology, and creating content that matters? Join Aalo and play a key role in bringing the future of nuclear energy to life through compelling visual media.

As a Video Editor, you'll support Aalo's growing pipeline of video content, crafting engaging stories that showcase groundbreaking technical achievements, major project milestones, strategic partnerships, industry events, and the people driving innovation across the nuclear sector. Your work will help communicate complex ideas, celebrate progress, and share the vision behind one of the world's most important and transformative industries.

This is an exciting opportunity for an early- to mid-career video professional eager to create impactful content at the forefront of advanced energy technology and help shape the narrative of the next generation of nuclear power.

What you'll do

  • Own post production of video projects, including story arc/narrative construction, editing, color grading, and sound design.
  • Manage a pipeline of video projects at this stage simultaneously.
  • Collaborate working with videography and marketing teams, including crafting story arcs within videos and scripting engaging content in advance of shoots.
  • Organize and manage footage for internal tooling and use.
  • Work in Adobe Premiere Pro, Frame.io, DaVinci Resolve, and/or other editing and post-production softwares.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional video editing and production experience.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating the successful editing and post-production of:
  • Explainer-style corporate or YouTube videos
  • 5-20 minute documentary-style videos (technology, engineering, hardware, or industrial subjects preferred)
  • 5-60 minute event videos
  • 1-5 minute talking-head or interview-based corporate videos
  • Other narrative-driven projects that communicate a cohesive story and engage viewers
  • Proven storytelling ability with a strong understanding of pacing, structure, audience engagement, and narrative development.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Competent sound editing and sound design skills, with the ability to use audio to enhance storytelling and production quality.
  • Highly organized with experience managing media assets, project files, production workflows, and editing timelines.
  • Comfortable operating professional camera equipment and capturing footage in the field as needed.
  • Innovative user of AI-powered tools and workflows to improve editing efficiency and content production.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and can manage projects with minimal oversight.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning complex technical subjects and translating them into compelling visual stories.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of or strong interest in engineering, science, advanced technology, energy, nuclear power, or industrial innovation.
  • Experience creating content focused on hardware, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, or other complex technical fields.
  • Experience with motion graphics and animation in After Effects or similar tools.
  • Experience with color correction and color grading in DaVinci Resolve.
  • Active involvement with YouTube content creation and an understanding of digital distribution strategies.
  • Experience coordinating freelance crews or managing small-scale video productions from concept through delivery.
