Job description

Position Summary...The Walmart Tax department continues its transformation journey towards a best-in-class technology and data-enabled team. The Tax Technology and Data Team is a core segment of the Indirect Tax Team, which is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of transaction taxes charged to customers and members across Walmart and Sam’s Club domestic operations, reporting and remitting transactional taxes across thousands of jurisdictions each year. Success in the design, build, and implementation of transaction tax systems at Walmart supports our growth, profitability, and corporate responsibility, ultimately benefiting all stakeholders, from associates to customers to shareholders.
As a Manager on the Tax Tech & Data team, you have the unique opportunity to contribute to a once-in-a-career transformation journey and influence how sales tax is. As a product/program/project management professional you will be successful through taking a data-driven approach while leveraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills to stabilize and improve our tax technology products. While a background in tax technology will be helpful, it is not a strict requirement for this role.   • Research and understand customer needs to derive outcome-based solutions with techno-functional SMEs and engineering product partners. You will represent the business and functional requirements to internal engineering partners and external technology partners, in support of technology design outcomes. 
  • Identify and support resolution of tax technology problems. With your understanding of technical aspects of legacy and 3rd party products as well as cloud and infrastructure environments, you will take responsibility for effectively communicating problem mitigation, including how product strategy and vision across cross-functional teams will support resolution. 
  • Apply foundational project management and product management techniques. You will set timely goals and expectations to deliver quality solutions while communicating progress to business and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Produce complete and accurate documentation related to tax technology business requirements, findings, and resolutions for stakeholder insights and acceptance. You will independently, or with minimal supervision, conduct data research, provide insights, and support to influence and inform business and technology stakeholders of problems, progress, and resolution of key tax technology solutions or issues.
