About Outcome School (Los Angeles)

Outcome School is a free tech school built to expand access to high-quality training in technology and entrepreneurship for underrepresented communitiesโ€”especially young people of color, immigrants, refugees, people from rural communities, and women and learners from low-income backgrounds across the United States.

We deliver live, online learning with hands-on projects, mentorship, and portfolio-building so learners can become job-ready and empowered to build solutions that strengthen their communities. Our work is grounded in practical skill-building and guided by our values:

Training โ€ข Tenacity โ€ข Transformation โ€ข Teamwork โ€ข Talent

Outcome School is scaling programming for 2026 and beyond, with a focus on increasing student access (including devices, internet support, and childcare support), strengthening partnerships, and building a sustainable funding engine.

Position Summary

Outcome School is seeking mission-driven leaders to serve on its Board of Directors, with a strong emphasis on:

  • Fundraising and donor engagement
  • Strategic marketing and community visibility
  • Network activation and relationship building
  • Financial and organizational sustainability

While the Board's core role is governance and strategic oversight, Outcome School is specifically seeking board members who understand that fundraising, partnerships, and visibility are essential board responsibilities during this stage of growth.

This is a working board for leaders ready to contribute time, talent, influence, and a meaningful philanthropic commitment to ensure Outcome School can serve more learners and expand opportunity.

  • Open doors to networks, corporate partners, foundations, and individual donors
  • Support major gift conversations, sponsorship outreach, and stewardship
  • Participate in campaigns, donor events, and community fundraising initiatives
  • Make a personally meaningful annual philanthropic contribution

  • Possess strong networks and are willing to leverage them to support the mission
  • Bring strategic thinking, integrity, accountability, and a collaborative spirit
  • Are excited to help an organization grow in visibility, sustainability, and impact

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with fundraising strategy, donor cultivation, sponsorships, or grant development
  • Knowledge of governance best practices, budgeting, and financial oversight
  • Background in DEI, community leadership, reentry support, youth development, or social impact initiatives

Board Terms & Participation

  • Three-year term, eligible for one renewal term
