Barbaricum is seeking an Operations Research Analyst Technical Advisor at the Senior and Journeyman level to provide systems engineering, technical assistance, program management, and acquisition support for Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The successful candidate will deliver technical expertise across the program lifecycle, supporting system design, requirements development, project execution, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and mission-critical initiatives. This position requires a collaborative professional capable of working with Government, military, industry, and cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that support complex defense programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems engineering, technical assistance, and subject matter expertise in support of Government programs, projects, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support program, project, and business management activities to ensure successful execution of technical and operational objectives.
  • Assist with acquisition planning, documentation, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Apply systems engineering principles to develop operational concepts, translate requirements into system designs, manage technical interfaces, and verify that solutions meet mission requirements.
  • Conduct technical analyses, engineering assessments, and trade studies to support program decision-making and technology integration.
  • Identify program risks, develop mitigation strategies, and provide recommendations to improve project performance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Evaluate existing processes, procedures, and quality control methodologies and recommend improvements that enhance program execution and operational effectiveness.
  • Manage and coordinate technical projects, system integration efforts, testing and evaluation activities, and rapid capability development initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings, reports, white papers, and executive-level presentations for Government leadership and program stakeholders.
  • Serve as a liaison among Government organizations, contractors, industry partners, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities involving engineering, acquisition, logistics, cybersecurity, information technology (IT), information assurance (IA), procurement, finance, and administrative support.
  • Support technical documentation development, editing, and quality assurance to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with Government standards.
  • Develop training materials, user guides, and instructional content to support Government programs and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Participate in program reviews, technical interchange meetings, working groups, and design reviews while tracking action items and providing status updates.
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance program quality, reduce risk, improve efficiency, and strengthen mission outcomes.
  • Perform additional systems engineering and technical support duties as required to meet evolving Government mission requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Senior level: 10 years of experience
  • Journeyman: 5 years of experience
