About This Role

We are seeking an evening teacher to join our childcare team, providing top-notch care and education to children aged 6 weeks to 12 years in a warm and nurturing environment.


Our childcare and learning center is registered with Bright from the Start and complies with strict regulations, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating engaging and age-appropriate activities, adhering to health and safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom.


Hours of work may vary, potentially extending to midnight, to accommodate working parents with non-traditional schedules.

What You'll Do

  • Assist children with basic needs, such as diapering, toileting, and feeding, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Plan and execute educational activities, tailoring them to individual children's interests and learning styles.
  • Develop and nurture positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering open communication and mutual respect.
  • Manage classroom activities, including lesson planning, playtime, breaks, and meals, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Monitor children's progress, providing regular updates to parents and adjusting instruction as needed.
  • Contribute to a clean and organized classroom, maintaining a high standard of hygiene and tidiness.
  • Support children in reaching developmental milestones, offering guidance and encouragement when necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement lesson plans, promoting creativity and innovation.
  • Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of classroom inventory and supplies, replenishing as needed.
  • Lead various activities, including songs, games, and storytelling, promoting cognitive and social development.
  • Comply with health, safety, and sanitation protocols, maintaining a healthy and secure environment.

Requirements

Education:

You are required to complete 10 continuing education units annually. Please submit your certificate(s) to the director electronically upon completion. 

Student-in-Training Requirements:

  • Additional licenses, certifications, or training may be beneficial or required.
  • More education and experience may be required or preferred.
  • Decisiveness, patience, and stamina to chase after, lift, or carry children.
  • Attend high school.
  • Attentiveness to the needs and safety of children.
