MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Must hold a current Georgia teaching certificate or meet the professional qualifications as outlined in the District Improvement Plan (DIP).
Physical Activities: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills, use of instructional technology and strategies, classroom management skills, excellent organizational skills.
GOAL:
This position provides quality standards-based instruction in the content area; assesses and encourages student progress, manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement, and ensures that students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and are prepared for career and post-secondary opportunities.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accounts for student attendance and punctuality.
  • Adheres to all state guidelines required for the implementation of a successful program.
  • Assesses and provides for differentiation to assure student progress while managing the learning environment.
  • Assures security and accountability for classroom equipment and supplies.
  • Attends school-level, district-level, and state-specific professional learning activities as directed.

  • Complies with state and system-level regulations and policies; including the rules of the Professional Standards Commission Code of Ethics for Educators.

Engineering
Primary Function:
The Engineering teacher provides standards-based instruction in Engineering and related content areas to ensure that students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and are prepared for career and post-secondary opportunities.
Additional Functions:
Completes the requirements to obtain and maintain Engineering
Education certification when deemed appropriate.
Spends a minimum average of 10 hours per month (or amount equivalent to state extended day pay) beyond the hours required of non-supplemented teachers in instructional (co-curricular) activities with Engineering Education or CTSO students or in collaborative meetings and events.
Completes additional days of career-related instructional training that may include, but are not limited to the following activities:
