About This RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Primary Lead Guide to join our community for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates should possess either Childrenโs House/Primary/EC certification from a MACTE-accredited training center or have a proven track record of leading a classroom with young children, along with a commitment to initiating Montessori training. Our ideal candidate will be a strong advocate for Montessori techniques and philosophy, while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment among colleagues and families. The primary work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8am-3pm, for the academic year (August to June) with separate summer contracts. There may be opportunities for summer employment based on school needs.
What You'll Do- maintenance and preparation of the classroom, curriculum, and materials
- ensuring all licensing standards are met, particularly correct staff-to-child ratios and sight and sound regulations
- documentation of lessons given and classroom observations
- collaborative planning with other MSC teachers
- regular family communication, including weekly emails, Parent Education meetings, Parent/Teacher conferences, documentation of any academic or behavioral issues, etc.
- support and mentorship of colleagues using Montessori training and experience
- attendance at regular staff meetings and teacher work days
- development and implementation of personal professional development goals to maintain Montessori certification
- participation in self-evaluation processes
- awareness of confidentiality and commitment to respecting it
- creating and maintaining a safe and respectful environment for children and adults
- on-time attendance and minimizing the impact of absences on the children
Requirements- Montessori certification at the Primary/3-6/Early Childhood level from a MACTE-accredited training center or a commitment to initiate training before the school year starts
- a strong understanding of Montessori Philosophy and its application in classroom curriculum
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- experience in classroom management
- previous experience in a Montessori setting
