Substitute Guest Teacher
Job Summary:
As needed substitute; locations and positions vary.
Qualifications:
Must have, or be eligible for a current Colorado substitute authorization or teaching license. District 51 honors the 3 or 5 year substitute licenses, along with the Colorado teaching license.
Acceptable demonstration of acceptable education and/or experience will be at the sole discretion of the District.

* You do not need an active substitute license in order to apply for the position, in order to start substitute teaching if offered position will require a pending substitute license and completed and cleared fingerprint background check

NOTE:

  • Submitting all other required District 51 application materials does not guarantee an applicant will be hired by District 51 as a substitute teacher. The District must have a current need for substitutes, applicant references must be checked, and an interview will be required.
  • Applications must be complete to be considered.
  • Submitting an application for a substitute position does not mean an individual is automatically a substitute; this is an application process, and you must be hired to become a substitute employee.
  • Substitute interviews tend to happen every 2-3 weeks. Once you submit an application, check your email routinely for an interview invite if you are selected.

  • $183.00 per day for Certified Teachers (PERA retirees)
  • $168.00 per day for Certified Substitute Teachers (must hold an active Colorado Educator License or Colorado Substitute Authorization)
  • $19.80 hourly for substitute Secretaries
  • $18.50 hourly for substitute Special Education Paraprofessionals
  • $17.96 hourly for substitute Health Assistants, Preschool Teacher/Director
  • $17.00 hourly for substitute Paralibrarians, and Vision Screeners, Classroom Para
