Job Summary
ECTC is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Instructor to teach students on-site, primarily at night. Experience in one or more of the following subject areas: Electrical Concepts, Electronics, Robotics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Electrical Construction, Electrical Motor Controls, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Maintaining Industrial Equipment/bearings, gears, sprockets, pulleys, belts, etc. Applicants will instruct the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester and be responsible for advising, institutional service, external service, professional development, and educational leadership. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to teaching, the willingness to work with a diverse population, and be dedicated to the mission of Elizabethtown Community & Technical College. 10-month, promotion track faculty position (Aug-May)
Job Duties:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare lesson plans and maintain records and reports on student attainment and progress.
  • Provide syllabi in a timely manner for each course taught that are current and meet college standards.
  • Provide input regarding curriculum development and enhancement.
  • Provide advising and career-related counseling for current and potential students.
  • Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
  • Actively serve on department and college committee assignments.
  • Complete all college and KCTCS mandatory training and activities in addition to other professional development opportunities relevant to individual needs.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with local industry representatives.
  • Set the example for appropriate dress and professional behavior for students.
  • Set and implement high expectation standards related to safety, professional behaviors, including punctuality, respect for leadership, teamwork, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain order and discipline in the teaching/learning environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience: Associate degree in an Advanced Manufacturing field (Electrical Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or Industrial Maintenance Technology).
Successful candidates should demonstrate:
  • The ability to use Blackboard for communication and feedback, curriculum development, course design, and student outcome assessment.
  • Proficiency in fluid power systems, industrial automation and robotics, industrial electricity, mechanical blueprints, industrial safety, industrial maintenance technology, PLCs (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, and/or Siemens), PLCs (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, and/or Siemens), and industrial safety practices.
  • Strong communications/relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to teach in a professional, enthusiastic, and organized manner to reach as many students as possible.
