CCAD Youth & Community Learning Instructor

Options include: Saturday Art Class Instructor and/or Evening Art Class Instructor

CCAD is seeking instructors for its Fall 2026 Saturday Art Classes and Evening Art Classes. Instructors for these programs thrive in creative spaces with young and lifelong learners, and are committed to delivering inclusive and equitable curriculum. To apply, provide a cover letter and CV/ resume. Please also be sure to select at least three courses in the application questions that you feel most equipped to teach. We must have this information in order to truly consider a candidate for hire. In depth descriptions of courses can be found on the Saturday Art Classes or Evening Art Classes pages of our CCAD Website.

This season, we are in particular need of fashion design, sewing, special effects makeup, and fabrication/prototyping instructors!

Instructors are required to:

  1. Serve as the primary instructor for all scheduled classes
  2. Deliver high-quality, well-planned art and design instruction that is appropriately scoped to student skill level and matches the course description
  3. Prepare and submit a syllabus to the Director of Youth & Community Learning by stated deadlines, and revise as directed
  4. Plan and enact class periods effectively adhering to Youth & Community Learning department standards
  5. Attend all orientation and training sessions
  6. Exercise appropriate classroom management, interventions, and support as needed
  7. Keep accurate attendance records via Enrollsy, our classroom management system
  8. Support at student dropoff and pickup as directed
  9. Communicate clearly and regularly with the Youth & Community Learning director and staff as well as students and their families as appropriate
  10. Ensure that classroom and studio spaces are cleaned prior to leaving
  11. Facilitate and collaborate around end-of-term celebratory exhibition of student work
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned
  13. Adhere to all CCAD health and safety standards.

Instructors are paid:

  • $1300 per ten week Saturday Art Classes course
  • $650 per five week Saturday Art Classes or Evening Art Classes course

Saturday Art Class instructors are required to be present for all Saturdays:

  • From September 19th to November 21st for ten week courses
  • From September 19th to October 17th for five week courses
  • If you are hired to teach a morning course, you will be required to be present from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM (classes run 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM).
  • If you are hired to teach an afternoon course, you will be required to be present from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM (classes run 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM).

Evening Art Class instructors are required to be present for all Tuesday evenings:

  • From September 22nd to October 20th
  • Evening Art Class instructors will be required to be present from 6:00 PM to 9:15 PM (classes run 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM).

Instructors are allowed to teach a combination of morning and afternoon Saturday Art Classes and/or Evening Art Classes if available and interested.
