Position Announcement
The Department of Nursing at Utah Tech University (UT) in St. George, Utah, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Nursing position, starting Fall Semester 2026. The department, located in the state-of-the-art Taylor Health Sciences building (adjacent to St. George Regional Medical Center), offers a certified nursing certification, as well as associate, baccalaureate, and masters degrees in Nursing. Responsibilities
  • Teach a varied number of semester hours that includes lecture and laboratory annually and provide clinical supervision as assigned.
  • May have direct assignments in the LPN, BSN and/or MSN programs.
  • Develop nursing curriculum with measurable objectives for each course.
  • Assist in the development and continued assessment of an excellent nursing program.
  • Assist in ongoing efforts of all aspects of national accreditation, including self-report, onsite visits, follow-up, and ongoing evaluation of health programs.
  • Plan, promote, and coordinate clinical contracts, clinical experiences, cooperative education and internships.
  • Assist with student recruitment, advisement, placement, and follow-up efforts.
  • Improve professionally and maintain currency in the field.
  • Serve on college and department committees as assigned.
  • Attend department, division, and faculty meetings and adhere to college policies.
  • Assist nursing leadership and division dean, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Nursing required, doctorate degree or enrollment in a doctorate degree required.
  • Two years of clinical experience and/or teaching in psychiatric nursing, transcultural nursing, pharmacology, professional nursing roles, and/or medical-surgical nursing required.
  • Ability to team teach in classroom and lab, and facilitate students in clinical situations which may include day, night, or weekend classes.
  • Must hold current Registered Nurse License for the state of Utah or eligibility to gain Utah Licensure.
  • Ability to develop innovative curricula.
  • Knowledge of subject matter, appropriate course content, current trends and methodologies in education and nursing.
  • Knowledge of computer-based technology as used in clinical and educational environments including online teaching/learning environments.
  • Knowledge of infection control issues and procedures.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to represent well the Nursing Program and Utah Tech University.

Supplemental Information
POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time (9-month) tenure-track faculty position. Faculty service begins fall semester 2026. Annual salary of $74,000, with additional compensation available for optional summer/overload teaching.
