Position: Consultant Acute Physician and Geriatrician with Special Interest in Metabolic Bone Diseases

Job Type: Permanent, Fee-for-Service (full-time clinical commitment)
Start Date: Flexible / as soon as possible Healthy Heart Institute is developing integrated osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease services in Red Deer and seeks an experienced Consultant Geriatrician/Acute Physician to lead fracture-prevention pathways and complex bone health care
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development and delivery of osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease services, including post-fracture care pathways, risk stratification, diagnostics, and evidence-based treatment.
* Provide acute medical and geriatric inpatient/outpatient care for complex, multi-morbid elderly patients.
* Deliver comprehensive fracture-prevention strategies and reduce avoidable fragility fractures.
* Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, service redesign, and multidisciplinary team leadership.
* Contribute to teaching, training, and audit activities.
Qualifications Required:
* MBBS (or equivalent) + dual CCT in General Internal Medicine & Geriatric Medicine (UK) or equivalent.
* FRCP (Edin) and MRCP (Geriatric Medicine) or equivalent.
* Proven experience leading osteoporosis/metabolic bone disease services in a UK NHS consultant role.
* Eligible for independent licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
* Strong leadership and service-development experience.
Compensation: Competitive fee-for-service remuneration in accordance with Alberta Health billing schedules. Estimated $250,000-$450,000 plus/annum.
