Ocean Beach School District is seeking passionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students in specialized learning environments. Located in the scenic coastal community of Long Beach, WA, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a supportive and collaborative educational setting.

  • 1 Middle School Resource/Inclusion Teacher
  • 1 High School Transitions Teacher (serving students ages 16-22)
Position Summary

Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides quality educational services to students with disabilities. The teacher will collaborate with general education staff, families, and support teams to deliver specialized instruction, facilitate student success, and promote inclusive learning environments.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Provide specialized instruction based on individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff.
  • Monitor and document student progress toward academic and behavioral goals.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team planning.
  • Provide consultation and instructional support to general education staff.
  • Foster an inclusive, positive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Support students' academic, social, emotional, and transition goals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.
  • Valid state teaching certification as required by state and district regulations.
  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred.
  • Standard Elementary Teaching Certification preferred.
  • Standard Secondary Teaching Certification preferred.
  • Standard Special Education Teaching Certification preferred.
  • Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement preferred.
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable).
  • Current TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable).
  • Current Health Certificate (per contract or state requirements).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
CompensationLocal Contract
