Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing instructional and clerical work assisting the Teachers at the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Preschool Program in devising special strategies for reinforcing materials based on the understanding of individual students, their needs, interests and abilities. Assists Teachers in the completion of oral and written assignments and lesson plans. The Teacher's Aide supervises students, offering special attention to students who need extra help, taking attendance, organizing class materials and stocking supplies. High School diploma or equivalent GED is required. An Associate's Degree is preferred. Forty five (45) hours of Childcare Regulation Course and Child Development Associate (CDA) certification is required. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in working with preschool children or in an education program; or completion of a program of study in child guidance or child care from a vocational/technical school is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Completed Red Cross First Aid Training and have a current CPR Certification is preferred. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
