Hope Academy is seeking a Teacher to lead a classroom and provide high-quality instruction to students with autism and other developmental needs. This role is ideal for an educator who values individualized instruction, collaboration, data-based decision-making, and creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

As a Hope Academy Teacher, you will plan and deliver instruction aligned with school curriculum, develop individualized academic goals, monitor student progress, collaborate closely with clinical staff, and build positive relationships with students and families.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working as part of an interdisciplinary team that integrates education and Applied Behavior Analysis principles to support student success.


What Youโ€™ll Do:

As a Hope Academy Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and Deliver Instruction: Create and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with Hope Academy curriculum and school standards.
  • Develop Individualized Academic Goals: Design academic goals based on student needs and provide whole-group, small-group, and differentiated instruction.
  • Assess and Monitor Student Progress: Conduct formal and informal assessments, collect academic data, analyze results, and adjust instruction based on student performance.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Complete gradebook entries, attendance records, assessments, quarterly progress reports, report cards, and other required documentation.
  • Partner with Families: Lead parent-teacher conferences and communicate regularly and professionally with parents and caregivers.
  • Implement ABA-Aligned Classroom Management: Collaborate with clinical staff to reinforce positive behaviors and implement approved behavior intervention plans and classroom-management strategies.
  • Support Student Accommodations: Implement and document approved accommodations and modifications, including those outlined in IEPs, 504 plans, or other applicable student plans.
  • Provide Active Student Supervision: Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, assemblies, field trips, and other school activities.
  • Collaborate with the Team: Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning communities, case discussions, and cross-department collaboration.
  • Maintain Instructional Continuity: Prepare emergency plans, substitute plans, lesson materials, and other resources needed to support continued learning.
  • Support School Operations: Assist with accreditation activities, compliance documentation, school-improvement planning, special events, field trips, and program preparation.
  • Maintain a Safe and Inclusive Classroom: Organize classroom materials, manage supplies, follow safety procedures, and create an environment that supports student engagement and belonging.
  • Use Technology Effectively: Use Google Suite, student information systems, data platforms, and other approved technology for planning, instruction, communication, and documentation.
  • Maintain Professional Credentials: Complete required professional development and maintain applicable certifications and licenses.
What Weโ€™re Looking For:

This role may be a great fit for someone who:

  • Holds a bachelorโ€™s degree, preferably in Education, Special Education, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred, not required.
  • Has one to three years of teaching, classroom, or related experience preferred.
  • Has experience working with students with autism, developmental disabilities, or significant behavioral needs.
  • Can create lesson plans, assessments, academic goals, and classroom systems.
  • Uses data to guide instruction and monitor student progress.
  • Communicates effectively with students, families, colleagues, and clinical staff.
  • Is organized, dependable, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Is comfortable working in an active classroom environment.
  • Is proficient with Google Suite and comfortable learning student data and documentation systems.
  • Holds or is pursuing South Carolina Teacher Certification.
  • Has RBT certification or relevant experience with high-magnitude behavior, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This is an active, student-facing role. Employees must be able to engage with students in classroom and community settings, including standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, bending, and moving quickly when needed. The role may require participation in approved physical intervention or safety procedures following required training. Some school events, parent conferences, field trips, or professional activities may occur outside standard working hours.
