Position Title: 

Substitute Teacher School Summer Learning Experience

Program Dates:

June 15th, 2026-July 9th, 2026

Required Professional Development:

June 10th-11th, 2026

No School:

June 22nd, 2026 and July 6th, 2026

Schedule:

Monday-Thursday 8 AM- 1 PM (staff hours)

Location:

K-5 LCC

Pay:  $25/hour

Position Summary:

We are looking for substitute teachers to support our 2026 summer program. This role focuses on supporting students in core content areas such as English, Language Arts, Mathematics, and STEM. Substitute teachers will ensure continuation of learning to minimize any gaps in instructional programs. Substitute Teachers help students strengthen foundational skills and prepare for the next academic level. Positions are contingent on student enrollment and will be filled in accordance with district contractual guidelines.

Qualifications:

For Certified Teachers:

  • Valid Professional Educator's License (PEL) with appropriate content area endorsements (e.g., Math, Science, English).


For Instructors (Non-Certified Teachers):

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related subject area.


  • Valid Substitute Teaching Certification.


  • Active enrollment in an approved educator licensure program.


Performance Responsibilities:

  • Provide rigorous instruction aligned with secondary content standards and course requirements.


  • Plan and deliver lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application.


  • Maintain accurate daily attendance records and submit reports in a timely manner.


  • Track, analyze, and report student progress and performance data.


  • Incorporate a service learning component that connects course content to community-based experiences.


  • Support credit recovery, enrichment, and readiness for the next grade level or course sequence.


  • Foster a respectful and engaging learning environment for adolescent learners.


  • Communicate effectively with families and colleagues to support student success.
  • Actively supervise students during arrival, lunch, and dismissal.
  • Attendance is required for the entire session duration, with a maximum of three absences allowed throughout the summer learning experience.

 All positions are based on student enrollment and subject to district staffing guidelines as defined in the collective bargaining agreement.
