We fundamentally believe in placing students at the absolute center of the learning journey, allowing their natural curiosity, interests, and questions to drive the educational experience. 

We are looking for substitute teachers who are eager to participate in and learn through participation in our academic program.  The ideal candidates have a flexible schedule that allows for pre-scheduled dates as well as day-of requested dates. Substitute teachers help support classroom learning and school culture.  Bennett Day School fosters a collaborative work environment where a substitute will support an authentic learning place for all students. 


Job Qualifications:

  • Creative spirit

  • Prior division-specific teaching experience
  • Classroom management skills

  • Education Background: a Bachelor's degree or working towards a degree is preferred

Job Specifications:

  • Direct classroom work with students in classrooms
  • Implement lesson plans left by lead classroom teacher (grades 5-12) or support the classroom teacher as an assistant (grades PK-4)
  • Support and model positive discipline

Requirements


  • Physical strength to independently lift 10-15 lbs
  • Fluency in written and oral English language.
  • Ability to oversee and ensure the safety of children in and out of the classroom
  • Apply appropriate instructional methods for meeting lesson objectives
