Job Summary:

Transcor Data Services is known for innovative technologies that solve problems for a wide range of industries, and we need a new problem-solver to take the reins. We’re seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer that will work directly with the DevOps team to ensure the integrity, reliability, and efficiency of our systems. This role involves designing and implementing build, deployment, and configuration management processes, developing automation tools, and providing technical guidance to improve our development and operations practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Collaboration: Work closely with the DevOps team and Senior DevOps Manager to test and validate system integrity.

• System Design: Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management processes to support efficient development and operations.

• Testing: Test implemented designs to ensure they meet requirements and function correctly.

• Automation: Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.

• Code Deployments: Handle code deployments across all environments, ensuring smooth and reliable transitions.

• Monitoring and Improvement: Monitor system metrics, develop strategies for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.

• Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and education to team members and other stakeholders on development and operations best practices.

• Innovation: Brainstorm new ideas and approaches to improve development delivery and operational efficiency.

• Consultation: Consult with peers and stakeholders for feedback during testing stages and refine processes as needed.

• Configuration Management: Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards to ensure consistency and quality.

• CI/CD Management: Manage Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) tools, coordinating with the team to streamline workflows.

• Documentation: Document and design various processes; update existing documentation to reflect changes and improvements.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of Kubernetes running in the cloud and local.

• Knowledge of Linux OS, Terraform, Tomcat, , nginx, Apache httpd, Ansible / Puppet / Chef, and Docker.

• Knowledge of source control systems (Bitbucket, Git)

• Advance understanding of Systems Development and General IT knowledge.

• Project delivery to ensure that systems and operational services meet business requirements, in support of new products and services for TDS’s clients, regulatory changes or compliance.

• Develop and deliver analytics platforms and capabilities that support TDS’s individual product channels.

• Database knowledge (Oracle, Sql, UDB, DB2)

• Ability to thrive in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment with a wide range of responsibilities.

• Build and retain a high performing team to be responsive to business needs, manage risks, and retain a deep knowledge of TDS’s products, processes, and objectives.

• Managing operational, technology and related risks, to avoid an impact on TDS’s clients or business operations.

• Expertise in creating, analyzing, and repairing large-scale distributed systems


Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations.

Proficiency with Linux infrastructures, SQL databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL), CI/CD tools, and scripting languages (JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, .NET).

Worked in cloud environments Google, AWS, Azure

Familiar with build pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket, etc.)

Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.

Up to date with the latest industry trends and able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.

Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and managing time efficiently to meet deadlines and project goals.
