What are TDFs and what do they do?

TDF can refer to 'Target Date Funds,' which are investment funds designed to automatically adjust their asset allocation as a particular target date approaches, typically for retirement purposes. These funds start with a higher proportion of growth investments, like stocks, and gradually shift toward more conservative assets, such as bonds, as the target date nears. TDFs offer a simple, hands-off approach to investing for individuals planning for a specific future date, helping to reduce risk over time. They are commonly offered in employer-sponsored retirement plans and are popular for their convenience and diversification.
