Job description

Job Summary:

"This position will mainly provide services in the Webster and Union County regions"

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Therapeutic Community Support Professional is responsible for providing therapeutic family support, therapeutic independent living transition supports, behavior management skills training, in-home support, and mentoring. Therapeutic Community Support Services are an extension of Outpatient Services. Performance Standards will be met by engaging clients in activities in the home environment and community setting.

Essential Functions:

  • Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with the client and family by developing an environment conducive for growth and exploration to learn skills in problem solving, conflict management, development of social skills, communication skills, and other issues identified by the Treatment Team.
  • Performs a needs assessment to identify client/ family strengths and deficits to include psycho-social needs.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the Treatment Planning Process.
  • Provides appropriate and effective therapeutic interventions, as demonstrated by advanced clinical knowledge.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation and charting on client’s progress towards treatment objectives. Documentation is presented at Clinical Supervision Session and reviewed.
  • Identifies and seeks appropriate resources for resolution during a crisis situation.
  • Participates in skill enhancement activities, in-services and workshops as required by the Agency and/or professional discipline.
  • Fosters collaborative working relationships among members of the leadership and management teams and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree that includes at least one 3-hour developmental psychology or behavioral health intervention course and one year of direct care experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree and at least one year of work experience that includes 60 hours of documented workplace training in developmental psychology or behavioral health interventions.
  • Completion of Core Competency Training.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of family, individual and group dynamics.
  • Demonstrates skills in consultation and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates skill in assessment of child, adult and family needs.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's license and ability to provide safe and reliable transportation
