Hawaii Academy of Arts and Science PCS seeks the following position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Tech Support Coordinator

Full Time, 12 month

Summary:

TheTechSupportCoordinatorperforms high level network administration on LAN, WAN, and server systems. Maintenance and monitoring of key systems to ensure uninterrupted connectivity and data integrity. Also installs and maintains structured data cabling, wireless systems, ip camera systems, fiber optic connections, and ip telephony. TheTechSupportCoordinatorresponds tosupportrequests and must which requires frequent travel to external sites. Response to requests may be communicated in email, in person, and remotely. Assists IT Director with classroom technology to include Chromebook and Chromebook Management, student email and user management, content filtering, interactive televisions, print management, documentation, change management, inventory and other duties as assigned. TheTechSupportCoordinatormust maintain professionalism, integrity, and adhere to strict confidentiality in the performance of their duties and perform other duties as assigned.Works to create a school culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, teamwork and high performance.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field plus (2) years of computer experience working with networking infrastructure and WAN networks (Microsoft Certifications), OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Security+(plus) certification or equivalent cybersecurity experience strongly desired.

This position requires travel to multiple sites on a regular basis.Valid driver license, satisfactory traffic abstract, daily access to a registered and insured vehicle are required.

Special Requirements:
  • Flexible work schedule, occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Working knowledge of LAN and WAN topologies and architecture, including Multi Vlan architecture. Must be able to construct, operate and maintain LAN and WAN Networks.
  • A complete knowledge of network equipment such as switches, routers, and associated equipment and how to construct and maintain networks.
  • Working knowledge of Server and PC operating systems - such as Windows Server, Windows Professional, Linux, MacOS, Android and IOS.
  • Must be proficient in command line OS such as Linux, PowerShell, GAMM, and CiscoOS.
  • Must be proficient in Virtual Machines, Docker containers, Apache, Nginx, and other self hosted platforms.
  • Must have knowledge of Firewall servers and basic rule setting programming.
  • Understands, installs and configures network equipment utilizing varied protocols such as: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Multicast, HTTP and TCP/UDP
  • Must have a working knowledge of IP Telephony.
  • Working knowledge of PC hardware and components including processors, mother boards, accessories, cards, peripherals.
  • Working knowledge of PC/LAN application software including word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, some administration in database management and development tools. Must be able to install, configure, and administer those systems.
  • Ability to model programs and systems to needs of users for desired results; understand and follow oral and written instructions; explain technical material in layman terms.
  • Ability to make contacts with other departments, requiring tact and judgment to avoid friction; frequent contacts with executives on matters requiring explanations and discussions; frequent contacts involving the carrying out of programs and schedules; regular and frequent outside contact with persons requiring tact and judgment; requires well developed sense of strategy and timing.
  • Ability to work effectively with student, parent, community, staff and board advisory committees.

Must be ethical and honest. Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, follow-through, and oral and written communication skills. Must be extremely flexible and able to work independently.

Must be knowledgeable and comfortable working with technology and software programs, including MS Excel and Word, Google Suite and other electronic communication systems and be able to acquire additional skills for use of software, databases or other information systems as necessary.
