Job description

Gamer's Choice is a team of passionate gamers, creators, and innovators based in Queens, New York. What began as a small local shop has grown into one of the leading destinations for Trading Card Game players and collectors around the world. We're driven by a shared love for gaming and community, offering both an engaging online experience and a vibrant in-store atmosphere. Our mission is to be the ultimate home for fans to connect, compete, and celebrate the games they love. While Yu-Gi-Oh! has always been our foundation, we're expanding into exciting new titles like Pokémon, One Piece, Riftbound, and Disney Lorcana. Our Long Island City store serves as the heart of our community, hosting tournaments, events, and gatherings that bring players together both in person and online.
Role: Ensuring every WhatNot stream runs smoothly, looks polished, and drives stronger sales by supporting hosts in real time, keeping operations fast and organized, and elevating the overall viewer experience.
Location: 34-09 Queens Blvd, Long Island City, 11101
Schedule: Overnight: 10:45 PM - 7:15 AM, Full-Time
Compensation: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour DOE
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Live Stream Host during Whatnot shows by managing chat, answering viewer questions, and maintaining a positive, welcoming environment.
  • Assist in setting up product displays, lighting, and stream materials before each show
  • Help prepare upcoming stream segments by organizing products, restocking inventory, and staging items for the host.
  • Monitor chat for questions, concerns, and bidding activity, escalating important messages to the host in real time.
  • Support post-stream tasks such as organizing products, packing areas, and resetting the studio for the next show.
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm improvements to stream efficiency, viewer engagement, and overall show quality.

Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional online presence.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-moving live environment.
  • Comfortable using chat tools, basic streaming interfaces, and digital communication platforms.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to follow structured workflows.
  • Physically able to lift and move boxes/products as needed.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to jump in wherever needed.

Nice to haves:
  • Familiarity with Pokémon or other TCG products.
  • Experience moderating live streams or online communities.
  • Basic understanding of live stream setups (lighting, camera angles, audio).
  • Prior experience with Whatnot or similar live selling platforms.
  • Experience in OBS and Google Sheets
