PRN Care Attendant (Senior Day Program) - Fort Worth, TX

At The James L. West Senior Day Program, we provide a unique environment where older adults who are living with dementia spend the day participating in social activities in a secure location designed for them. We see the unique individual before the diagnosis, and we design our program to give each participant the opportunity to have meaningful interaction in a secure location where they can feel comfort and a sense of belonging. We are seeking compassionate, dependable Care Attendants to provide support and care for older adults living with dementia.
What You'll Do
As a Care Attendant, you will be the reason someone living with dementia feels welcome, valued, supported and feels a sense of belonging when they attend our program. You will make a difference in their life as well as their family as you:
  • Greet participants and their families.
  • Encourage participants to join in social activities.
  • Assist participants with toileting as needed and provide incontinence care if required.
  • Provide transfer assistance.
  • Set up, serve, and monitor mealtimes.
  • Monitor participants for safety and fall prevention.
  • Ensure daily cleanliness of our building while completing housekeeping functions and ensuring all infection control procedures are followed
  • Assist with and lead life enrichment programming.
  • Communicate any changes in condition to nurse and/or designee.
  • Respond calmly, politely and appropriately to participant needs and family requests including in emergency or urgent situations.

Schedule & Pay
  • PRN schedules with the possibility of increased hours as our program continues to grow!
  • Our program normally operates Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Flexible schedules based on your availability.
  • Pay starts at $14.50/hour and up based on your verifiable experience (or higher with a current CNA license).
  • We follow Fort Worth ISD for severe weather closings/delays.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required and 18 years old
  • Prior experience in dementia care, senior care, or adult day programs strongly preferred
  • CNA or HHA certification a plus, but not required
  • CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain upon hire)
  • Ability to lift and assist individuals safely
  • Must pass background check, drug screen, and TB/health clearance
