About the Company

R. Berger & Company, CPAs, P.C. is a relationship-driven CPA firm providing high-level tax, accounting, and advisory services to a diverse client base. We pride ourselves on accuracy, responsiveness, and a collaborative, client-focused approach.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Tax Reviewer to support our firm. This role is ideal for an independent tax professional who can review and finalize complex returns, communicate directly with clients, and work collaboratively with our team as needed. The role will begin on a part-time basis, with an expected workload of approximately 20–30 hours per week during peak season. Additional hours may be available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and finalize individual and business tax returns
  • Conduct final review of returns prior to delivery to clients
  • Comfortable communicating directly with clients to discuss tax filings, questions, and outstanding items
  • Work extensively in CCH Axcess Tax
  • Gather and review client documentation and financial information
  • Manage workflows and client communications through TaxDome
  • Utilize Juno tools as applicable
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
  • Meet agreed-upon deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with firm personnel as needed to complete assigned engagements
  • Participate in periodic check-ins regarding project status and timelines
  • Complete additional project-based tasks as mutually agreed upon

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional tax preparation and review experience
  • Extensive experience with CCH Axcess Tax (required)
  • Experience with TaxDome preferred
  • Experience with Juno is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Compensation

$60–$75+ per hour, commensurate with experience and complexity of work
(1099 independent contractor position)

Work Environment

  • Fully remote
  • Seasonal / contract engagement

Requirements

Contractors must provide their own computer, Microsoft & Adobe software, and secure high-speed internet access.
