Job Title: Tax Processor / Tax Admin Assistant

Department: Tax

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 annually



ABOUT THE ROLE


Haskell & White is one of the largest independently owned public accounting firms in Southern California, serving a diverse mix of public and private middle-market companies across industries including real estate, technology, life sciences, manufacturing, and nonprofits. As a Tax Admin, you will provide essential administrative support to our tax department, helping to ensure accurate documentation, timely filing, and smooth coordination between clients and tax professionals.



WHAT YOU WILL DO


• Prepare and maintain client tax files, including engagement letters and supporting documents, under the supervision of the Tax Operations Supervisor.


• Track and monitor tax return workflow to ensure timely completion and submission, updating workflows as necessary and communicating discrepancies to the Tax Operations Supervisor.


• Coordinate client signatures for e-file authorization forms and other required documents.


• Respond to client inquiries regarding tax return status and documentation needs.


• Handle incoming and outgoing mail related to tax notices and client correspondence, and scan client documents as needed.


• Assist with client onboarding and support tax professionals with scheduling, correspondence, and general administrative tasks.


• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with firm policies and regulatory standards at all times.



WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


Education: High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field preferred


Experience: 2 or more years of administrative experience, preferably in a public accounting or tax environment


Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; experience with tax software is a plus


Skills: Strong attention to detail, clear communication, solid organizational skills, and a team-first approach



WHAT TO EXPECT


This is a full-time, in-office role with an annual salary range of $65,000 to $70,000. You will work closely with tax professionals and the Tax Operations Supervisor in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, organization, and follow-through are essential.
