Located in our Rochester, NY office, the Tax Analyst will report to Tax Manager.  The successful candidate will be responsible for GL reconciliation and monthly returns for indirect taxes and excise taxes.

What you'll do:

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and/or annual tax filings for sales tax/VAT, fuel, excise or carbon filings for the Superior group, including support for calculations and claims
  • Assisting with the determination of taxable/exempt status of products/services offered.
  • Preparing monthly tax account reconciliations
  • Ensuring the payment of taxes, filing of returns and accounting entries are executed on a timely basis on or before required filing deadlines.
  • Reconciling of government tax statement of accounts.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent career experience
  • 1+ years in indirect tax preparation and filing
  • Strong initiative with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure in a self-directed environment and deliver to deadlines
  • Strong organizational and priority management skills, with the ability to adapt and respond to changing customer/business demands
  • Excellent customer service skills including professional phone manners and adherence to proper email etiquette
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Reasonable level of skill to research and problem solve
  • Ability to learn and adapt to different software platforms and tools and the ability to extract and utilize the data from these systems
  • Good organizational and time management skills, in order to manage multiple priorities and competing demands within tight timelines

 

Salary: 

The expected annual salary range for this role is $65,600 - $82,000.
