The Senior Income Tax Accountant is responsible for federal, state & local tax accounting and compliance activities, research relating to tax matters, and supporting federal and state income tax audits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the preparation and review of US, International, State and Local income tax filings including estimates, returns, and quarterly projections

  • Responsible for the timely, accurate, and complete compliance with all applicable tax laws, regulations, judicial decisions, and administrative pronouncements.

  • Reviews and analyzes new tax rules and changes to existing tax rules to ensure Company's continued compliance

  • Assists with the preparation, review, and documentation of the quarterly and annual income tax provision, including the identification and calculation of permanent book/tax differences, discrete items, deferred income taxes, uncertain tax positions, and valuation allowances

  • Assists with the research of income tax issues and addressing tax issues in connection with special projects as needed by the Director of Tax

  • Respond to notices and assists with Federal, State, and Local tax audits or examinations including anticipating auditor's requests, preparation of documents and support for returns, and researching audit issues

  • Self-starter who performs additional duties and projects commensurate with the role

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or the equivalent

  • 2-5 years of related experience

  • CPA, Masters in Tax, JD/LLM (a plus)

  • Strong knowledge of tax accounting, and tax laws/regulations

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Proficiency with technology, including MS Office Suite, OneSource, SAP, and tax research tools

  • Must be local to the Cleveland/Akron area and available to be on-site hybrid (9-12 days/month)
