Our Tax Graduate Program is designed to provide a strong foundation for a long-term career in taxation. Over the course of three years, participants rotate through key tax roles within Indirect Tax , gaining practical experience and exposure to a broad range of tax activities and business operations.

We are looking for talented, curious, and forward-thinking graduates who are passionate about tax, technology, data analytics, innovation, and the energy transition.

Through this three-year rotational program , participants gain broad exposure to the tax function within a global energy company, building technicalexpertiseand business insight across renewables, electricity, natural gas, refining, chemicals, trading, and more.

Graduates will join our Indirect Tax team , contributing to projects in both traditional and renewable energy sectors while supporting day-to-day operations and developing a strong foundation for a long-term career at TotalEnergies.

Key Responsibilities & Activities
  • Assist with the reconciliation and analysis of indirect tax accounts, helping identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support tax compliance activities by gathering, analyzing, and validating tax-related financial data.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors to support tax audits and regulatory inquiries.
  • Monitor developments in indirect tax legislation and help assess potential impacts on the business.
  • Contribute to VAT, sales and use tax, and excise tax projects across a diverse portfolio of businesses.
  • Support the tax implications of new business initiatives, acquisitions, and organizational growth activities.
  • Participate in the development and enhancement of in-house tax processes and capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, data analytics, and digital solutions.
  • Collaborate with global tax teams and cross-functional partners to ensure compliance and effective tax management.
  • Contribute to strategic tax projects and transformation initiatives while developing technical and business expertise.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with exposure to tax ; Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation highly preferred.
  • Foundational understanding of corporate tax concepts and accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large datasets, including data validation and analysis.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, or other data analytics and process automation tools highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, curious, and eager to learn, with a willingness to ask questions and take ownership of assignments.
  • Collaborative team player able to work effectively across Tax, Finance, and business teams.
  • Passion for performance, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Experience in these is a plus: VAT, Excise Duty, Sales & Use Tax, or other indirect tax areas; Tax analysis and compliance activities; SAP, Thomson Reuters OneSource, or Vertex; Big 4 or corporate tax environment experience
