What does a tax coordinator do?

A Tax Coordinator is responsible for organizing and managing the tax-related activities of a company or organization. This includes preparing and filing tax documents, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, coordinating with tax advisors, and assisting with audits. They also help maintain accurate records and may provide support during tax planning and reporting processes. The role requires strong attention to detail and up-to-date knowledge of tax codes and deadlines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a tax coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Tax Coordinator, you need a solid understanding of tax regulations, accounting principles, and attention to detail, typically supported by a degree in accounting or finance. Familiarity with tax preparation software (such as CCH Axcess or Thomson Reuters), Microsoft Excel, and possibly an Enrolled Agent (EA) or CPA certification is often required.
