A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney to join its Washington, DC office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising public and private companies, private equity sponsors, investment funds, real estate developers, healthcare organizations, and high-net-worth clients on sophisticated federal tax matters.

Ideal Background

4+ years of federal tax experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience advising public companies, privately held businesses, private equity sponsors, investment funds, developers, financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals

• Experience structuring and advising on the tax aspects of mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures, financings, restructurings, and other strategic transactions

• Experience with partnership taxation, corporate taxation, LLC taxation, pass-through entities, and federal income tax planning

• Experience drafting and reviewing transaction documents from a tax perspective and providing strategic tax advice throughout the transaction lifecycle

• Experience advising clients regarding tax controversy, tax planning, real estate taxation, fund formation, or executive compensation is a plus

• Strong drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated client matters while maintaining significant client interaction

LL.M. in Taxation is a plus, but not required

• Excellent academic credentials

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

DC bar admission required or ability to become admitted
