Job description

Our CPA firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Accountant with 2–4 years of experience to join our team. We specialize in tax compliance, audit representation, and accounting services for a diverse client base. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a solid understanding of corporate tax regulations, and the ability to lead accounting workflows in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Corporate Tax Compliance: Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for businesses and individuals, with a specific focus on Forms 1120, 1120-S, and 1065.
Accounting & Financials: Record adjusting journal entries, perform Book-to-Tax (M-1) reconciliations, and prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements.
Payroll & Sales Tax: Oversee the preparation and filing of payroll tax and sales tax returns to ensure all deadlines are met.
Tax Research: Conduct research on IRS Tax Code and state regulations to ensure accurate tax positions and compliance.
Client Communication: Act as a point of contact for clients to gather financial data and provide updates on tax matters.
Workflow Management: Collaborate with the team to support client needs and ensure high-quality, timely service delivery.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 2+ years of experience in full-charge income tax preparation within a CPA firm.
Software Proficiency: Mastery of QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Excel. Experience with Intuit ProConnect Tax Online is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge: Strong grasp of accounting principles (US GAAP) and IRS tax regulations for corporations and partnerships.
Core Competencies: Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a strong work ethic.
Communication: Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline pressure.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. CPA license or candidate status is a plus.
