Accounting and Tax Associate - Centennial, CO (in-office)

Salary range: $65,000-80,000, based on experience

We are seeking a proactive Accounting and Tax Associate to join our public accounting firm. This role combines tax preparation, financial review, and client relationship management, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review corporate and individual tax workpapers and supporting documentation
  • Prepare sales tax returns and assist with federal, state, and local tax compliance
  • Respond to IRS and state tax notices by researching issues and preparing resolutions
  • Research accounting and tax issues and recommend practical, client-focused solutions
  • Perform year-end financial reviews, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and expense analysis
  • Complete bank reconciliations and depreciation schedules
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, building strong relationships and providing exceptional service
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client questions and requests
  • Support firm leadership with special projects, client needs, and high-priority initiatives
  • Balance multiple deadlines while adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced public accounting environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues and firm leadership across a variety of client engagements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Experience with QuickBooks and strong comfortability with Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formula creation) required
  • CPA, or plans to obtain certification preferred
  • Prior experience in public accounting or client-facing tax/accounting work preferred
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client deadlines simultaneously
