Job description

Overview

Taurus Engineering is seeking an Assembly Technician to support daily manufacturing and mechanical assembly operations within the Production Department. The Assembly Technician assists the Production Manager in maintaining quality standards, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and supporting an efficient production workflow. 


This position performs precision mechanical assembly and collaborates with Engineering, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to support the manufacture of high-reliability products. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.


This position is full-time and requires working onsite at our facility in Long Beach, CA. 


Mechanical Technician - Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Verify parts and materials before assembly to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformance to requirements.
  • Perform mechanical measurements utilizing various mechanical measurement tools.
  • Conduct visual inspections and ensure workmanship meets company and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to improve assembly processes and resolve production issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Follow all safety, ESD, cleanliness, and quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience (preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Experience with hand tools, measuring devices, and precision assembly techniques.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical certification or associate's degree in mechanical technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in semiconductor, electronics, aerospace, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Good visual acuity and manual dexterity required.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while adhering to PPE and cleanliness requirements.


Schedule: Full-time / Monday - Friday / 7:00am - 3:30pm (potential for overtime as business needs require)

Salary: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour / Weekly Pay Schedule
