) As a Server (Dining Services Associate) with Waterford Grand, you're responsible for creating a safe, comfortable and pleasant dining experience for our seniors. Unlike other serving positions in hospitality (restaurants, hotels, resorts), in this role you'll have the opportunity to build life-long relationships serving our residents the nutritious meals that keep them thriving every day.
What we look for in a Dining Room Server (Dining Services Associate):
  • Work with the dining room manager to identify dietary needs and develop appropriate dietary plans
  • Must possess current first aid certification and a current food handler's or serve safe certification
  • Compassionate individuals who will represent our community in a positive and professional manner
  • Effective communicator who connects with staff, residents and their families
  • Demonstrate active listening techniques, gain support by treating others with dignity and respect
  • Strong customer service skills with ability to problem solve
  • Ownership attitude who is able to stay focused despite interruptions throughout the day
  • Reliable transportation and dependable when it comes to showing up on time
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends

What you can expect to do as a Server (Dining Services Associate):
  • Prepare dining room for all meals, completing the pre-meal procedures
  • Fill resident food requests, transport food to dining room or deliver service trays to resident's units
  • Establish effective relationships with residents, family members and staff
  • Use proper tasting techniques to understand the flavor of all entrees and have knowledge of their ingredients, prior to meal service
  • Demonstrate organizational skills around time management
  • Ability to understand menus and answer questions that might arise
  • Ensure cleanliness in both kitchen and dining room
  • Actively participates as a member of a team and is committed to working toward goals set by management
