What is a tasting room associate?

Tasting Room Associates are hospitality professionals who work in wineries, breweries, or distilleries, guiding guests through tastings and sharing information about the beverages offered. They provide excellent customer service by educating visitors about the production process, flavor profiles, and the story behind each product. Their role often includes pouring samples, answering questions, selling products, and ensuring guests have a memorable experience. Tasting Room Associates also help with daily operations such as restocking, cleaning, and maintaining a welcoming environment.

In 1988 Wilridge became the first winery in Seattle and has expanded over the years to 5 locations: Yakima, Madrona, Pike Place Market, Pie Wine Bar in Woodinville and a partnership with Wines of Washington in Post Alley, at the Pike Place Market. You'll also find us in many retail locations throughout the Northwest and beyond.

Located in the Naches Heights AVA, our vineyard, orchard, winery and distillery occupies 85 acres and supports our commitment to Certified Organic and Biodynamic wines and spirits. Our fresh, seasonal pies and ice cream are created on-site.

This role involves being host/hostess, server, busser, plus food prep, wine service and education, as well a creator of craft cocktails, and pouring beer on tap. Daily responsibilities include setting up and breaking down tasting room and restaurant spaces, and maintaining a clean, organized environment. In addition, the associate will restock products, and help with special events and club activities. Collaboration with team members to create a warm, professional, and memorable guest experience is essential.

Qualifications

  • Wine Sales experience, upselling, and comfortable promoting wine club memberships.
  • Prior tasting room, restaurant, or hospitality experience is required.
  • One to two days of weekend availability is required. Weekday evening and offsite events offer an addition avenue to gain hours.
  • Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to foster welcoming, inclusive, and positive guest interactions.
  • Clear and professional Communication skills, both verbal and written, for guest engagement and teamwork.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry cases of wine.
  • Must be able to multitask and navigate very busy surges in business throughout the day.
  • Posses or obtain within 30 days, a MAST 12 and Food Handlers Certification.
  • Reliable transportation to Woodinville, WA.
