Job description

Summary:

A commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee ground-up and large-scale commercial projects, including fast-paced builds, complex interiors, and major renovations. This role is ideal for someone who can manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client communication while working closely with field leadership to deliver high-quality projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the Superintendent to ensure preconstruction planning and project execution meet quality and schedule expectations

  • Develop, update, and manage project schedules and establish a clear baseline

  • Build strong working relationships with owners, architects, reps, and subcontractors to ensure repeat business

  • Manage client expectations while maintaining transparency on progress, changes, and risks

  • Oversee bidding, buyout, project startup, subcontractor coordination, and closeout

  • Manage procurement, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation

  • Identify risks early and communicate impacts to the schedule or budget

  • Partner with the Superintendent to uphold safety standards

  • Delegate tasks and mentor junior team members to grow their capabilities

  • Maintain all reporting, documentation, and financial tracking

  • Ensure project profitability through disciplined cost and schedule control


Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or related field preferred

  • Minimum 7 years of commercial construction experience, including 4+ years in a Project Manager role

  • Experience managing ground-up projects and commercial projects valued $10M+

  • Background managing project teams ranging from 1–10 people

  • Comfort working under fast-paced schedules with tight sequencing

  • Strong technical knowledge of building components and systems

  • Thorough understanding of standard construction procedures: A102 and A201 contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and closeout

  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, BIM, Suretrak, and Procore
