Assistant Project Manager – Electrical Construction

Job Description

BLVD Electric Inc. is seeking an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our Project Management and Field Operations teams.

The ideal candidate will have construction experience and understand project documentation, field coordination, procurement, scheduling, and communication. This role will work closely with Project Managers, field supervisors, general contractors, vendors, engineers, and internal departments to keep projects organized and moving forward.

Electrical construction experience is strongly preferred.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support Project Managers with the coordination of commercial electrical construction projects.
  • Prepare, submit, distribute, and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, project correspondence, and closeout documents.
  • Maintain accurate project, procurement, change order, and closeout logs.
  • Review project emails and documents to identify action items, missing information, and next steps.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, field teams, general contractors, engineers, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Track material approvals, purchase orders, long-lead items, delivery dates, and field requirements.
  • Assist with change order descriptions, supporting documentation, and project billing information.
  • Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and revisions to identify scope or coordination issues.
  • Prepare meeting notes, project updates, follow-up emails, and action-item lists.
  • Track punch-list items, warranties, as-built drawings, operation manuals, and final closeout requirements.
  • Follow up consistently to ensure deadlines and project items are completed.
  • Attend occasional project meetings or site visits as required.

What We Are Looking For

  • Prior construction experience.
  • Experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, Construction Administrator, or similar role is preferred.
  • Electrical subcontractor experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, drawings, specifications, and closeout documentation.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications at a basic to intermediate level.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, Bluebeam or Adobe PDF, and construction-management systems.
  • Professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Reliable transportation for occasional project-site visits.

Preferred Experience

  • Commercial tenant improvement, retail, hospitality, office, or ground-up construction.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, PlanGrid, Accubid, or similar software.
  • Experience coordinating electrical equipment, lighting, switchgear, controls, low voltage, or fire alarm systems.
  • Experience with change orders, project billing, procurement, scheduling, and closeout.
