Job description


BAE Systems' F-35 Solutions product line has an exciting opportunity for a junior Task Manager to join the team in support of the F-35 Production Program.
While developing your project/program management, you will participate in assigned aspects of program execution as an integral member of the team.
The location for this role is Nashua, NH, with flexibility to perform some activities that do not require an on-site presence remotely.
Responsibilities include:
  • Execute tasks as assigned by senior program management; proactively take action to drive successful outcomes; and build internal and external relationships to support long term program success
  • Contribute to the achievement of financial, schedule, technical, and new business performance objectives.
  • Monitor and report out on program elements including cost and schedule.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Interface with customers as needed to resolve issues and maintain a high level of customer engagement and satisfaction.
  • May participate in the support of new business and in the development of financial plans.
  • Demonstrate adherence to the company's ethical standards and business practices; ensure compliance with the BAE Systems Operational Assurance Framework and all other policies and requirements; provide for good stewardship of the assets of the business.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies.

Required Skills and Education
  • Typically a Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline and a minimum of 4 years of experience in program management and/or with functional activities related to the program lifecycle, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Highly developed collaboration skills with demonstrated success partnering with cross-functional colleagues.
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to present program results to leadership.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment that requires a high degree of initiative and adaptability.
  • Proficiency with business tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills and Education
  • Familiarity with production, transition to production, and/or sustainment programs.
  • Experience with cost account management.
  • Defense industry experience.
