What is a task force?

A Task Force is a temporary group formed within an organization to address a specific issue, project, or objective. Task Forces are typically composed of members from different departments or areas of expertise, allowing for a multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving. Once the assigned goal is achieved, the Task Force is usually disbanded. They are commonly used to tackle urgent, complex, or high-priority challenges that require focused attention beyond regular departmental operations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a task force member?

To thrive as a Task Force member, you should possess strong problem-solving skills, subject-matter expertise related to the team's mission, and often a relevant academic or professional background. Familiarity with project management tools, data analysis software, and sometimes specialized certifications (such as PMP or Six Sigma) is valuable, depending on the task force's focus. Excellent teamwork, adaptability, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for collaborating across departments and handling dynamic challenges. These skills ensure that the task force can develop and implement solutions efficiently and drive organizational objectives forward.

How does a task force role typically collaborate with other departments within an organization?

Individuals in a Task Force role often work cross-functionally, coordinating efforts between various departments to address specific projects or organizational challenges. Collaboration involves regular meetings, sharing updates, and integrating feedback from stakeholders to ensure alignment with company goals. This role requires strong communication and adaptability, as priorities may shift based on the evolving needs of the project. Successful Task Force members proactively build relationships across teams and act as liaisons to drive project momentum.

Project Coordinator - Software and IT

Mehr Consultancy

Irving, TX • On-site

$18 - $21/hr

Full-time

Re-posted 13 days ago

Job description

Mehr Consultancy manages a nationwide portfolio of hotels across Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Hyatt, Wyndham, Best Western, and Choice brands. We're hiring an IT Project Coordinator to own the day-to-day computer, account, and software operations that keep our corporate team and on-property staff running.
You'll work from our corporate office in Irving, Texas, supporting both HQ and hotel teams across the portfolio. This is a hands-on role with a lot of variety; one day you're setting up laptops and managing user accesses, the next you're coordinating with the Task Force team on a property onboarding.
What you'll do
  • Set up and deploy Windows laptops for new hires - imaging, software installs, account configuration, and handoff
  • Maintain the device inventory
  • Troubleshoot on-site and remote hardware: printers, scanners, monitors, laptops
  • Handle device recovery and wipe. Re-issue when employees leave.
  • Create and manage Google Workspace accounts; configure new domains, reset credentials, edit user details, manage groups and aliases
  • Administer user access across our core platforms (Monday.com, Slack, and other systems), including license assignment and monthly user audits
  • Own onboarding and offboarding checklists end-to-end so no account or device is left open
  • Serve as first point of contact for corporate staff and property management. Respond to tickets, questions, and troubleshoot
  • Join calls with teams when walkthroughs are needed
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors during property onboarding and offboarding
  • Document fixes, build simple how-to guides, and reduce repeat questions over time

Skills required
  • Google Workspace administration (users, groups, security settings)
  • User management and role-based access control (RBAC)
  • Windows 10/11 troubleshooting and setup
  • Clear written and verbal communication with non-technical users
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and comfort working independently and in a group setting
  • Avid learner - our stack changes and you'll be expected to pick up new tools quickly

Nice to have
  • Experience in hospitality or multi-site/franchise environments
  • Familiarity with hotel PMS systems (OnQ, Opera, Choice Advantage)
  • Basic networking (switches, VLANs, Wi-Fi troubleshooting)
  • Exposure to MDM/endpoint management tools
  • Experience with Monday.com, Slack admin, or workflow automation tools

Details
  • Location: Irving, TX (on-site)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours; occasional after-hours support during property transitions
  • Compensation: $18 - $21
