Job Description:

Lead company-wide engineering teams performing design, development, and test of integrated BMC3 capabilities. The BMC3 Systems Engineering Lead (LSE) will technically oversee teams performing development and test of integrated BMC3 offerings, aligning customer requirements with the team's overall technical capacity and maturity and ensuring that delivered capabilities meet each program's objectives. The LSE is responsible for the program technical baselines and associated deliverables, guiding the teams through project milestones while managing technical risk and tracking action items to closure. The LSE oversees the development and test of these complex systems that deliver significant impact on business and functional results.

This role requires a leader capable of driving innovation in multi-domain battle management while ensuring compliance with defense standards and operational requirements. The ideal candidate has prior technical expertise in BMC3 solutions, with experience in all aspects of the product life cycle.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the end-to-end engineering lifecycle for BMC3 product development, including requirements definition, system design and development, integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Guide multidisciplinary teams of BMC3 engineers, architects, and developers as well as external partners and subcontractors to meet each program's technical objectives and deliverables, mitigating technical risks while operating within established project timelines and budgets.
  • Serve as a primary customer and associate contractor technical liaison.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, military branches, and industry partners, to align BMC3 capabilities with joint operational needs and emerging threats.
  • Conduct system-level analysis and trade studies across BMC3 portfolio to optimize performance, interoperability, and resilience in contested environments.
  • Drive research and development initiatives to incorporate advanced technologies into emerging solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps for BMC3 products and capabilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and briefings to executive leadership and external customers.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Travel to customer locations without supervision and provide onsite technical team guidance and oversight supporting successful demonstration of system performance objectives and mission success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems, Electrical or Software Engineering, and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with the application of systems engineering tools.
  • Demonstrated experience working with project planning, requirement management and scheduling.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or training in the integration of requirements, design and technology during the design and development of complex systems.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or training in product development and associated development life cycle.
  • Demonstrated track record leading large-scale engineering projects from concept to fielding, preferably in joint military programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of BMC3 architectures, data link standards, and multi-domain operations.
  • Demonstrated systems engineering background with experience in leading teams and collaborating with a diverse background of organizations and teams to accomplish whole system solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience Subject Matter Expertise in two or more of these areas:
    • C2 system architectures,
    • BMC3 product development,
    • Mission System Integration
  • Demonstrated ability to engage internal/external stakeholders at all level of the organization, responds effectively to changing situations, skilled at prioritization, statusing, and working multiple tasks in parallel.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher; eligibility for Top Secret/SCI preferred.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Understanding of MBSE/Modeling and Simulation.
  • Understanding of physical architectures spanning across multiple security domains .
  • Highly skilled at planning test, integration, verification, and validation activities.
  • Experience with Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) or similar joint all-domain command and control initiatives.
  • Familiarity with software-defined systems, DevSecOps practices, and agile methodologies.
  • Prior involvement in DoD acquisition processes, including Milestone reviews and system certification.
