Job description

Comment:
Responsible for performing precision manual machining operations, with primary emphasis on manual drilling of components and tooling parts.
This position supports tool and die production, maintenance, and repair activities by ensuring drilled parts meet dimensional, quality, and safety standards.
The role requires intermediate-level machining skills, strong blueprint reading abilities, and adherence to established manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform manual drilling operations on a variety of metal components, fixtures, dies, and tooling parts.
Set up and operate manual drill presses, tapping machines, countersinking tools, and related equipment.
Interpret blueprints, work orders, technical drawings, and specifications to determine drilling requirements.
Select appropriate drill bits, cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
Maintain dimensional accuracy and ensure compliance with tolerance.
Deburr, ream, tap, and perform secondary finishing operations as required.
Assist Tool & Die Makers with fabrication, repair, and modification of dies and fixtures.
Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Follow all safety policies and wear required PPE.
Document completed work and report discrepancies or quality concerns to supervision.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Demonstrated experience operating manual drill presses and related shop equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments.
Basic knowledge of shop math and geometric tolerancing.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
