J2 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and scale our electrical contracting operations across commercial, industrial, and healthcare projects. This role is responsible for overseeing project execution, field performance, workforce planning, and financial outcomes across multiple job sites.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in electrical construction, proven leadership of field and project management teams, and the ability to drive operational efficiency while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead daily operations across multiple electrical construction projects
  • Manage and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen
  • Oversee project scheduling, manpower planning, and resource allocation
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification
  • Monitor job costing, profitability, and financial performance (P&L responsibility)
  • Collaborate with estimating team on bids, staffing, and project strategy
  • Implement and improve operational systems, processes, and KPIs
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, GCs, and subcontractors
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with all regulations
  • Support company growth initiatives, including new markets and divisions
Qualifications
  • 7+ years experience in electrical construction (commercial/industrial required)
  • 3+ years in a leadership or operations role
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction methods
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling and manpower planning
  • Strong knowledge of job costing and financial tracking
  • Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously
  • Experience leading teams of 20+ field personnel
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
Preferred Experience
  • Multi-location or multi-division operations
  • Government or public-sector contracting
  • Experience scaling operations or opening new branches
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience as a journeyman or master electrician, typically with several years in the field.
  • Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's preferred); MBA experience is preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Instructional Skills: Ability to adapt to different learning styles, use instructional technologies, and communicate complex concepts clearly.
