Job Summary:Â Within federal and state law and regulations and district policy and practice:
- Responsible for the management of the instructional program for assigned students
- Responsible to establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning within the classroom and assist in same throughout the building
- Responsible for the assessment of student progress
- Responsible for other duties as assigned by the building principal which are necessary to fulfill the basic function of the position and are consistent with the Master Agreement
Position Goals:
- To support implementation of our Young Scholars program that identifies, nurtures, and develops academic potential in students.
- To close opportunity and achievement gaps by providing rigorous, high-level creative and critical thinking interventions to students at risk of not meeting or exceeding state academic standards.
Performance Responsibilities
Targeted Instructional Intervention & Talent Development
- Provide supplemental talent development push-in interventions (K-2) to expand access to critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and advanced literacy/STEM skills for all students.
- Provide supplemental, high-level tier interventions (K-4) for students identified through the Young Scholars model as displaying high emergent potential.
- Facilitate small-group instruction using advanced, research-based curricula to accelerate student learning.
Collaboration & Capacity Building
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate core instruction, sharing supplemental tier strategies to scaffold high-level thinking for Title I-eligible students.
Compliance
- Maintain instructional logs, student attendance rosters, and student progress reports
- Regularly measure and report the academic growth of participating students to ensure intervention strategies are effectively bridging the achievement gap.Â
Qualifications: - Hold a baccalaureate degree from a college or university that is accredited
- Minnesota Department of Education teaching license required for specific assignment
Bargaining Unit: Teachers
Salary Range: BA, Step 1 at $51,599/yr to PhD, Step 17 at $111,313/yr, placement will vary depending on education and experience. View salary grid on the respective bargaining unit listed above, accessible via our Master Agreements page.
