This role is based on-site at one of their locations: Traverse City, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Gaylord

Our client, a well-established, growing, 140+ employee, multi-location organization, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead the company's people strategy and oversee all aspects of Human Resources across the business.

This executive leadership role partners closely with ownership and senior leadership to align talent strategy with business objectives while fostering a high-performing, engaged, and values-driven culture. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor who builds strong relationships throughout the organization and drives organizational effectiveness through people, processes, and leadership development.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Human Resources Leadership

  • Lead the overall HR function, including strategy, operations, and team development
  • Partner with executive leadership on organizational planning, workforce strategy, and business growth initiatives
  • Develop scalable HR systems, policies, and best practices that support a growing organization
  • Build strong partnerships with leaders across multiple locations and departments

Organizational Development & Leadership

  • Drive leadership development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives

  • Partner with payroll and finance teams to support accurate employee administration

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field
  • 7–10+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience
  • Experience supporting multi-location operations, manufacturing, distribution, retail, or other operational environments strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, organizational development, compensation, benefits, performance management, and workforce planning
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
