Your Responsibilities on the Team Manage a team of software engineers, providing mentorship and performance feedback. Oversee the development and implementation of software projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Collaborate with other teams, such as product management, to ensure seamless integration of software features. Facilitate code reviews and enforce best practices in software development. Monitor project timelines and work to remove obstacles that may delay progress. Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members. Mentor and develop engineering talent. Lead a full-stack squad building React and TypeScript front ends on Python and FastAPI services. Contribute directly to delivery by writing production code, designing APIs, and reviewing architecture across the stack. Set and hold the review bar for AI-assisted development, including agent instructions maintained in the repository, automated pull request review, and clear human accountability for every merge. Own the CI quality gate and the promotion path through development, UAT, and production. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field. 8+ years of experience building and operating production software, including web applications and backend services. 4+ years of mentoring and developing junior and mid-level software engineers. 4+ years of experience in team management and project delivery. Strong engineering background with a concentration on distributed systems and service integration. Ability to set business KPI’s and help track, manage and interpret them to all levels of leadership. Production experience with Python and FastAPI, and with React and TypeScript, sufficient to review both sides of a full-stack change. Hands-on daily use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar), with clear judgment on when to trust, verify, or override their output. Experience leading engineers across multiple time zones. Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements: This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs.
