Job description

We are seeking a dependable, physically active Galvanizing Line Take-Off Operator to work at the discharge end of our chain link production line. In this role, you will oversee the final takeoff process as galvanized mesh exits the line, ensuring high product quality, secure bundle tying, and efficient palletizing for shipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Line Monitoring & Quality Assurance: Inspect finished chain link mesh coming off the machine for galvanizing defects, uneven coating, or weaving flaws.
  • Roll Take-Off & Tying: Assist the automatic take-up machine in rolling up chain link fence sections, utilizing hand pliers to wire and tie rolls securely.
  • Palletizing & Staging: Safely load, stack, and secure bound rolls onto pallets according to weight limits and packaging specifications.
  • Line Support: Maintain continuous operation at the end of the line, notifying line technicians or mechanics of mesh jams or equipment issues.
  • Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of debris while strictly adhering to plant safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, metal fabrication, or industrial mill environment is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for entire 10-hour shifts, perform repetitive hand/wrist motions using hand pliers, and manually lift/move up to 50–75 lbs regularly.
  • High attention to detail, strong attendance record, and a safety-first mindset.
