Berner Food and Beverage is seeking Skilled Machine Operators /Production Workers for their Dakota, IL location. The ideal worker is responsible for a variety of tasks, including various food processing machine operations, stacking and inspection of cases, ensuring product quality, and stacking per product specifications; stack-off; labeling; and any other duties assigned by the Shift Supervisors


Duties are to be carried out while following established Standard Operating Procedures in a manner that is compliant with our safety policies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Stack cases in a pattern assigned to the product
  • Experience in operating various machinery as it relates to Berner's Operations: Packaging Systems (KHS); Filler Machine, Retorts (aseptic), Brewing equipment (Brew Deck operations); Labeler, and Pallatizer.
  • Experience and understanding of CCPs; SOPs; Customer Specifications, Production Analytics
  • Label products accordingly to product requirements
  • Perform various tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Keep area clear of debris and hazards
  • Inspect cases while being stacked for proper packing, damaged product, or other deformities
  • Place a holding layer of shrink wrap on pallets to ensure stability
  • Proactively inform Supervisors and Line Operators of problems
  • In some cases, perform scanning functions and issue paperwork or tracking numbers

  • Must be able to lift up to twenty pounds regularly and repetitively
  • Must have the ability to read a production schedule/assignment
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with the Supervisors
  • Must have a solid understanding of basic math
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
