Job description

The Lonestar Truck Group and TAG Truck Centers have built an excellent reputation within the heavy truck industry. Much of the success can be attributed to our employees who share a common vision: A hassle free, value added transaction for every customer every time.
Purpose of Position: Performs maintenance and repairs on Class 5 through Class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company policies.
Supervises: N/A
Essential Job Functions:
• Diagnose and repair assigned vehicles in an accurate and timely manner.
• Verify repair is complete and fixes original customer complaint.
• Notify shop foreman of other potential issues associated with vehicle.
• Punches in and out of job costing program to ensure accurate time billed to customer.
• Mindful of maintaining customer's vehicle cleanliness at all times while working on vehicle.
• Works to achieve company efficiency standards.
• Ensures warranty parts are returned to proper department for processing.
• Follows all established OSHA and company safety protocol to include keeping work station neat, clean, and free of debris.
• Other duties may be assigned as listed job duties are not comprehensive and should not be construed as such. This job description is subject to change.
Required Skills/ Abilities:
• Verbal and written communication to include simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Basic computer use and navigation skills.
• Knowledge of Heavy Duty/ Medium repair techniques.
• Ability to learn company standards, warranty procedures, and vehicle policies.
• Customer Service focused.
Preferred Education:
• Associate's degree from a two year college or trade school.
Preferred Experience:
• Minimum of 6 months Heavy Duty/ Medium Duty repair work.
Other Preferred Qualifications:
• Commercial Driver's License
• Clean MVR Record
• Own tools
