Job description

Site Security & Response Officer (Overnight, Armed)

Overnight shifts (12 hours)

$45/hour, based on experience and licensure.

Provide professional armed security coverage overnight to protect client assets, personnel, and property in Northern Virginia. Must be licensed through DCJS, able to conceal carry with employer authorization.

The Site Security & Response Officer (Overnight) will work as a member of the Residential Security Team (RST). They will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, flexible, discrete, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with dedication to customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct foot/vehicle patrols and access control during overnight shifts.
  • Monitor surveillance and alarm systems; respond swiftly to incidents or emergencies.
  • Write clear incident reports and maintain shift logs.
  • Enforce client-site policies and procedures.
  • Provide courteous public interaction and assist emergency responders as needed.
  • Remain alert and vigilant throughout overnight hours.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Valid DCJS registration and active Armed Security Officer license, including a current firearms endorsement.
  • Valid Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) or reciprocal state.
  • Mandatory certifications, current: CPR, First Aid, AED.
  • Ability to operate office equipment including computer, phone, video monitoring equipment, etc.
  • Prior experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
  • Strong communication and professional demeanor.
  • Ability and expectation to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays on rotation.
  • US Government or US Military Special Operations or LEO SWAT experience, required. SWAT experience should be on a Tier 1 or 2 tactical team with capabilities per NTOA TROS 2023.
Desired Qualifications
  • Current DCJS Patrol Rifle endorsement.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, intelligence, homeland security or related discipline, or 7-10 continuous years of directly relevant and documented experience.
  • Active US Government security clearance.
  • Current LEOSA (HR218).
Physical Requirements
  • Must maintain a high level of grooming, physical fitness, and professional appearance.
  • Must be able to kneel, squat, run, climb, stretch, bend. This position requires full mobility and dexterity to operate vehicles and equipment.
  • Must be able to maintain a standing or sitting position for duration of shift (with breaks), to include within the confines of a vehicle or small enclosed space.
  • Must be able to lift and carry fifty (50) lbs. up and down two (2) flights of stairs.
  • Must be able to carry/drag one-hundred eighty-five (185) lbs. a minimum distance of twenty-five (25) yards on level terrain within a time of thirty (30) seconds.
  • Must be able to effectively operate/manipulate handguns, rifles and shotguns; optics; and communications equipment.
