Emergency Response Team (ERT) Officer

ARDENT Protection, LLC

Tampa, FL

Full-time, Per diem

Job description

Job Description

You have done the post work.

You know what it means to stay alert, follow standards, write clear reports, and keep people safe when most people are not paying attention.

Now you may be ready for more.

ARDENT Protection is hiring an Emergency Response Team Officer for the Central West region. This role is built for experienced Security Officers, former law enforcement, military professionals, and serious protection professionals who want higher-readiness work, stronger training, and the chance to support other Officers in the field.

This is not a routine security post.

ERT Officers support changing field needs across armed and unarmed assignments. That may include guard services, asset protection, firewatch, event security, close protection, workplace violence prevention, field assessments, officer training, and other priority details.

This role includes a 60-hour weekly on-call commitment. This does not mean you are actively working 60 hours every week. It means you are expected to remain available, responsive, and ready to report during your assigned on-call schedule.

If you are ready for that level of trust and responsibility, this may be a strong next step.

At ARDENT, our ERT Officers are trusted to respond, lead, coach, and help raise the standard in the field.

Our core values are People First, Humble Excellence, and Genuine Integrity. That means we protect people with care, do the work without ego, and do the right thing even when no one is watching.

Pay, Schedule, and Support
  • Base salary: $40,000 per year.
  • Year 1 earning potential: up to $65,000 per year, based on approved assignments, eligibility, and operational needs.
  • On-call commitment: 60 hours per week.
  • Current shift: Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  • Additional earnings may be available through ARDENT’s Cash Grab Program, approved emergency response assignments, travel assignments, training support, and other operational opportunities based on business needs.
  • Uniform and tactical gear provided. Firearm and personal accessories are not included.
  • Company vehicles are provided for approved operational assignments and business use in accordance with Company policy.
  • Ongoing professional training is provided.
  • Travel assignments may include per diem and extra pay opportunities.
  • Discretionary performance bonuses may be available.
  • For mandatory range days, ARDENT covers range fees, required safety gear, and ammunition.
Why Join ARDENT’s ERT?

The Emergency Response Team is more than a specialized field assignment.

It is an opportunity to grow as a leader within ARDENT.

ERT Officers receive advanced training, support operational excellence across multiple locations, mentor fellow Officers, and play a key role in raising the standard of our organization.

The ERT program is designed to help identify and develop future field leaders by giving strong Officers the chance to lead by example, build trust, and support the team in higher-readiness situations.

ResponsibilitiesWhat You Will Do

As an ERT Officer, you will help protect people, property, and peace of mind when readiness matters most.

You may:

  • Respond to scheduled and priority security details.
  • Support armed and unarmed field assignments.
  • Assist active sites when extra coverage or readiness is needed.
  • Conduct field assessments with Security Officers.
  • Support training and coaching for Security Officers in the field.
  • Reinforce post orders, reporting standards, safety steps, and ARDENT procedures.
  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating ARDENT’s values and reinforcing operational standards through daily actions.
  • Check in with leadership before assigned work.
  • Inspect your assigned company vehicle before use.
  • Stay available and responsive during assigned on-call hours.
  • Report to assigned locations within required response times.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, teammates, leaders, Security Officers, and the public.
  • Use good judgment and de-escalation skills in tense situations.
  • Represent ARDENT with discipline, care, and professionalism.

RequirementsThe Right Fit

The right person for this role is calm, dependable, coachable, and ready to lead by example.

You do not need to act tough to be effective here. You need to be prepared, alert, respectful, and steady when the situation changes.

You also need to be someone other Officers can learn from. ERT Officers help set the tone in the field. Your habits, reports, communication, and attitude matter.

Strong ERT Officers usually show these habits:

  • You show up on time and ready.
  • You answer calls and messages when assigned on-call.
  • You take instructions seriously.
  • You do not cut corners.
  • You stay calm when others are stressed.
  • You communicate before small issues become big problems.
  • You write clear reports.
  • You accept coaching and apply it.
  • You can coach others without ego.
  • You care about doing the job the right way.

This role may be a strong fit if you want more than a routine post. It is built for someone who wants to keep learning, stay sharp, support other Officers, and be part of a team that takes the work seriously.

How Our Values Show Up

People First

Security is about people before anything else.

You protect clients, support your teammates, coach Security Officers with respect, and treat every person with care, even during tense moments.

Humble Excellence

You take pride in doing the job well without ego.

You train, prepare, follow standards, and keep improving. You do not need to be the loudest person in the room. You do need to be ready and willing to help others get better.

Genuine Integrity

You do the right thing, even when no one is watching.

You report clearly, follow post orders, communicate honestly, give fair feedback, and hold yourself accountable in the field.

What We Are Looking For

To be considered, you should have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in security, military, or law enforcement.
  • Active D and G licenses. ARDENT will verify licenses during the process.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
  • Must remain insurable under the Company’s vehicle insurance program.
  • Must maintain reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to report to assigned locations within required response times.
  • Ability to successfully complete ARDENT’s job-related physical readiness assessment.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Commitment to complete ARDENT’s 7-Day Basic ERT Training Course.
  • Strong judgment and clear communication skills.
  • A team-first mindset.
  • The ability to stay professional under pressure.
  • The ability to coach, guide, or support other Security Officers in the field.
  • The ability to meet the 60-hour weekly on-call commitment.
  • Employment remains contingent upon maintaining all licenses, certifications, and qualifications required for the position throughout employment.

Experience in armed security, executive protection, asset protection, event security, firewatch, law enforcement, military service, emergency response, field supervision, or officer training may help you succeed in this role.

This Role Is a Strong Fit If

This role is built for someone who wants more responsibility, more variety, and more trust in the field.

You may be a strong fit if:

  • You are ready for higher-readiness security work.
  • You can meet the 60-hour weekly on-call commitment.
  • You stay responsive and ready during assigned on-call hours.
  • You are comfortable with changing assignments and field needs.
  • You want to support, assess, and train other Security Officers.
  • You take feedback well and use it to improve.
  • You follow clear procedures and take standards seriously.
  • You are ready for physical readiness expectations and team training.

We are clear about the commitment because we want the right person in the right seat. If you are dependable, disciplined, and ready to grow, this role may be a strong next step.

What Happens After You Apply

We keep the process clear so you know what to expect.

Step 1: Phone Screen

You will speak with People & Culture about your experience, licenses, availability, and interest in the ERT role.

Step 2: ERT Assessment

You may complete an assessment focused on judgment, response readiness, communication, and decision-making under pressure.

Step 3: Operations Meet and Greet

Selected candidates will meet with the Operations team to talk through field expectations, team fit, training responsibilities, and role readiness.

Step 4: Final Leadership Conversation

Selected finalists may meet with ARDENT’s CEO either during the Operations Meet and Greet or as a follow-up conversation.

This step helps both sides confirm alignment with the role, the team, and ARDENT’s mission to raise the standard in the security industry.

Step 5: 7-Day ERT Training

Candidates selected to move forward will complete ARDENT’s 7-Day Basic ERT Training Course before final placement on the team.

Take the Next Step

If you are dependable, disciplined, and ready for a higher-readiness security role, we want to hear from you.

This is a role for someone who wants to respond, lead, train, and help raise the standard in the field.
